“I realize it may not seem like it at times, but all of us have managed to figure out how to use the most complicated technology in the universe. The human brain is a network of 100 billion neurons with 10 trillion connections. It controls our perception, memory, abstract thought, complex behavior, and consciousness. We still don’t understand it. But it remains the only tool we have that truly matters.
Understanding it isn’t as important as learning how to use it, just as you don’t need to know everything about how a violin works to master it. Each neuron has about 1,000 possible connections that create a huge network of about 100 trillion synapses that work like a massive computer network of one hundred trillion transistors, each representing a single bit of information.

If we add up these interactions, we end up with approximately 10 to the millionth power of possible “bits” we can use in forming ideas or solving problems. That’s one followed by a million zeroes’ worth of data. Think of that the next time you allow these “bits” to spell out the idea “I can’t” into that squishy mass between your ears. Then try again.”
